Fitness Assessment
(30 minutes) Used as a benchmark to monitor your progress, fitness assessments are done at the initial consultation, as well as periodically. Wear workout clothes because you will be asked to perform minimal physical activity.
- Height
- Weight
- Heart rate
- Blood pressure
- Girth/circumference measurements performed with tape measure
- Body composition skin fold calipers measure 5 different sites on the body to determine body fat percentage and distribution
- Muscular strength and durability - musculoskeletal testing includes 5 measures that require you to work with your own body weight, i.e., sit-ups, push-ups, crunches (laying on a mat)
- Flexibility and range of motion sit-n-reach flexibility test
- Aerobic/cardiovascular fitness test completion of one or more sessions of 3 minutes of stepping at predetermined speeds based on age and gender
