Fitness Assessment


(30 minutes) – Used as a benchmark to monitor your progress, fitness assessments are done at the initial consultation, as well as periodically. Wear workout clothes because you will be asked to perform minimal physical activity.
  • Height
  • Weight
  • Heart rate
  • Blood pressure
  • Girth/circumference measurements performed with tape measure
  • Body composition – skin fold calipers measure 5 different sites on the body to determine body fat percentage and distribution
  • Muscular strength and durability - musculoskeletal testing includes 5 measures that require you to work with your own body weight, i.e., sit-ups, push-ups, crunches (laying on a mat)
  • Flexibility and range of motion – sit-n-reach flexibility test
  • Aerobic/cardiovascular fitness test – completion of one or more sessions of 3 minutes of stepping at predetermined speeds based on age and gender
  • Health risk appraisal
